ABOUT MEG

Hiya, I’m Meg. I’m a brand strategist and writer.

In fact, even when I’m not working, you’ll probably find me sat concocting ideas and scribbling them down with excitement.

Based in Manchester, I work alongside my trusted assistant Mog (present on most Zoom calls) and an entourage of experienced and talented creatives.

I have a love for research and an adaptable skillset that’s both creatively focused and commercially minded, bringing the best out of projects big and small.

Story

My career started in marketing and communications, where I spent my days organising and creating strategies - and my evenings writing away. Now I combine my business expertise with creativity to create exciting and engaging word-focused experiences.

OFFERING

I tell stories. From creating brand strategies and briefs, to copy and social media content - and even the occasional VR experience. I’m always excited to find the right words to express what’s needed.

I’ve worked in advertising and writing for ten years, beginning my career as account manager and then studio manager and arts/culture lead for an agency in Manchester. During that time I created brand strategies and worked with organisations including Heritage Great Britain, Allied London and Bruntwood. Meanwhile, I spent my evenings and weekends building my writing career.

Since going freelance in 2020, I’ve worked with brands from all over the world on projects that have involved all sorts - from helping world-class technology organisations reposition themselves to bringing local communities closer to arts’ organisations. My work spans brand strategy and consultation, brief creation right through to copywriting and content creation.

Alongside this, I write creative non-fiction focusing on LGBTQ+ grief and short-form fantasy. I’ve recently completed an Arts Council DYCP grant to research and develop a first draft of my memoir on queer grief and accompanying supportive materials. My writing practice has also been developed by The Turnpike as part of initiative Making of Us for socially engaged artists. I’ve delivered writing workshops for Northern Writers’ Studio, Islington Mill, Untangled Grief and community arts organisations across the North West.
